Peerless, long-standing expertise
built on more than 30 years’ experience and the installation of dozens of units worldwide, with an unrivaled product quality-to-ROI ratio.
Long viewed as a polluting byproduct of milk coagulation during cheesemaking, and valorized solely in animal feed, whey has since the 1970s also become a dairy ingredient of great interest to human-food producers.
Though a source of lactose and proteins, it is little used in nutrition due to its high level of mineral salts. This is why demineralization is essential. Valorizing this dairy byproduct by demineralizing it offers the dual advantage (economic and ecological) of obtaining a product with high energy value while reducing organic pollution in the environment.
Eurodia has patented technological solutions that selectively separate the minerals in whey while preserving the quality of the lactose and serum proteins. These highly nutritious proteins are now widely used in the agro-food industry for mass consumer products (infant formula, baked goods, chocolate, dietary foods, etc.). Global demand for purified whey constituents is therefore consistently strong, with high quality standards.
Big international groups, independent dairy companies, and cheesemakers select Eurodia for…
•Whey demineralization: by combining ion-exchange resins, membrane filtration and electrodialysis, our processes provide perfect microbiological conditions (pH and temperature) to demineralize whey by 90%, the purest grade (D90) required for making infant formula powder.
• WPC production: a specific Eurodia process provides an original, custom solution for making ingredients in this category, and especially WPC with high heat stability.
• Optimization of lactose production: our electrodialysis and chromatography technologies increase yields for manufacturers in this segment. Our processes also enable the production of specific ingredients from lactose (GOSs, etc.).
